Health and Safety Policy
We have always attached the greatest importance to the Health & Safety at work of all our employees. We have an excellent record in this respect and it is our policy to do everything reasonably practical to prevent personal injury, accidents and to safeguard health. It follows that all employees must co-operate to eliminate known or suspected risks. Compliance with Health & Safety matters is of equal importance to other responsibilities. We are members of the Confederation of Construction Specialists, who provide guidance, advice, information on training.

All those supervising others must support others and take the initiative in training, have regard to Health & Safety in the issue of their instructions, and must themselves set a personal example of the standards the Company expects. Facilities are available Employer/Employee consultation on Health & Safety matters. Individual employees will be consulted before receiving specific Health & Safety responsibilities.
The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 places a special responsibility on all employees to take reasonable care of their own Health & Safety and of others who may be affected by their actions at work. This includes wearing suitable personal protective equipment as well as making full use of the equipment provided by the Company, and never intentionally or recklessly interfering with or misusing anything provided in the interests of Health, Safety or Welfare. Regarding CDM the Company fully accepts its responsibilities under the CDM Regulations 1994 as Principal Contractor.
Breaches of Safety Regulations will be treated as a disciplinary offence.
The Company Health & Safety Policy Statement and General Guidance Notes have been prepared to outline the levels of responsibility for safety of every person working within the Company and as a reminder of the general precautions which must always be taken on site. It details systems, which ensure the effective planning, control, monitoring, and review of the protective measures in place and recording procedures.
More detailed Guidance Notes are issued to Contract Managers, Site Agents and Foremen to assist in the achievement of safe working environments. In addition to making regular inspections of individual sites a representative of the Safety Group is available for consultation and advice on all matters affecting Safety at Work.
Regulation notices on various aspects of safety are displayed on every site and should be carefully read.
Each site is equipped with a First Aid Box.
This Statement is issued to all employees on engagement and is generally posted on appropriate notice boards. It is also issued to Clients and Sub-Contractors. It is reviewed, revised and up-dated on a regular basis.
We have a good safety record within the Company but nevertheless accidents still occur. By the implementation of this Policy we can strive to prevent many more accidents. So remember a little forethought may save a life.
